New Delhi: A citizen of Cameroon was arrested by customs officials at the Delhi international airport for allegedly smuggling cocaine worth Rs 22 crore, stated an official statement issued on Tuesday.
The accused had arrived from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia on Friday.
Seventy capsules containing white powder were found during the personal and baggage search of the passenger. The 1,472.5 grams of a white powdery substance in these capsules was confirmed to be cocaine through tests. The value of the seized substance was Rs 22.09 crore.
The narcotic was seized and the passenger was arrested.
