‘Porn Passport’ to be launched in Spain, Know What it Is

The government in Spain is going to introduce “Porn Passport”, a mobile application aimed to stop minors from accessing pornographic content.

“Porn Passport” will allow legal users to access pornographic content without their usage being tracked. It will curb children from accessing the same content.

According to Olive Press, officially called the Digital Wallet Beta (Cartera Digital Beta), this app will allow internet platforms to check whether a person viewing pornography is of legal age.

The porn-viewers will be asked to verify their age through the app. Once verified, they’ll receive 30 “porn credits” valid for one month allowing them to access explicit content.

Spain government-issued ID will be used to verify a user’s age through this app.

Many criticized the system for its complexity, but the Spanish government claimed that it is more privacy-friendly.
