Chilling Details Emerge in Mumbai BMW Hit-and-Run Case

Mumbai: Mumbai police have revealed horrifying details regarding the hit-and-run case involving a BMW that killed a woman on Sunday morning. The vehicle, driven by Mihir Shah, the 24-year-old son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, dragged the victim for 1.5 km before stopping, according to CCTV footage reviewed by the cops.

The incident occurred when Kaveri Nakva and her husband Pradik Nakva were on a scooter, and Mihir Shah’s BMW rammed into them. Shah fled the scene, leaving Kaveri severely injured.

Rajesh Shah has been detained, while Mihir Shah remains at large. CCTV footage showed that after the impact, Mihir Shah stopped the car, swapped seats with his driver, and then removed Kaveri Nakva’s body from under the vehicle. The driver then reversed over her body before driving away.

Police have charged Mihir Shah with culpable homicide, asserting that both Shah and his driver were fully aware of their actions.

The incident mirrors the Pune Porsche hit-and-run case, where the influential family of the accused allegedly attempted to tamper with evidence.

The Mumbai Police have mobilized 11 teams and the Crime Branch to apprehend Mihir Shah, issuing a lookout notice to prevent him from fleeing India.

Reports indicate that Shah and an accomplice, Rajrishi Bidawat, abandoned the BMW in Bandra and then fled to Borivali, where Shah visited a female friend’s house and has been untraceable since. His phone was last active in Borivali, and police are extending their search to nearby states, including Gujarat.

Investigation revealed that Shah partied at a Juhu bar until early Sunday morning, with a bill amounting to ₹18,000.

His father, Rajesh Shah, arrived at the accident site around 6:45 am, an hour after the incident. Rajesh has been charged for allegedly giving misinformation and destroying evidence, the police said.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has vowed strict action, stating that no one, regardless of their status or political affiliation, will be spared.
