Married Woman Raped by a Driver in Moving Sleeper Bus in Telangana

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by a driver of a private sleeper bus travelling from Nirmal district of Telangana to Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh.

The woman called the ‘Dial 100’ and complained after midnight on Monday when the bus was on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

When the police intercepted the bus, the accused driver fled. The accused, one of the drivers of the bus, put a blanket in her mouth and allegedly raped her on the moving bus, alleged the victim.

The driver at the steering at the time of the incident was taken into custody for interrogation.

Based on the complaint of the victim, a case was registered at Osmania University police station. Further investigation is on.
