Disability Certificates Of 6 Other Civil Servants Under DoPT Scanner After Puja Khedkar Row

New Delhi: After the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) cancelled IAS probationer Puja Khedkar’s candidature, the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) is investigating medical certificates of six other civil servants. Their disability certificates were flagged off on social media platforms.

Out of these six, five are from IAS and one IRS.

Khedkar’s candidature was cancelled by the UPSC as it was found that she had violated the examination rules and guidelines, correct.

“The UPSC has examined the available records carefully and found her guilty of acting in contravention of the provisions of the CSE-2022 Rules. Her provisional candidature for the CSE-2022 has been cancelled and she has also been debarred permanently from all the future Examinations/Selections of the UPSC,” the central government’s department of personnel and training (DoPT) said in a statement.

A Delhi court on Thursday rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by Khedkar, accused in a case of cheating and forgery.

She is alleged to have misused the disability and Other Backward Class (non-creamy layer) quotas to secure her candidature in the civil services exam. She is accused to have lied about visual and mental disabilities, and faked her identity, to pass the Civil Services entrance exam – attempted the uber-competitive qualifying test more than the six times permitted for a general category candidate.
