Air India Cancels Flights To And From Dhaka Amid Bangladesh Political Turmoil

New Delhi: Air India has announced the immediate suspension of its flights to and from Dhaka, effective Monday, due to the volatile political situation following the resignation of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina amidst widespread anti-government protests.

The airline, which operates two daily flights from New Delhi to Dhaka, is closely monitoring the developments.

“Given the current situation in Bangladesh, we have suspended all flights to and from Dhaka with immediate effect,” stated an Air India spokesperson. “We are providing support to passengers with confirmed bookings by offering a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges.”

In Dhaka, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman confirmed Hasina’s resignation, indicating that an interim government is now assuming control.
