Sheikh Hasina Still in India, Efforts on to Secure Safe Asylum for Her in Europe

New Delhi: Bangladesh’s ousted Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina is still in India.

After resigning from her post amid widespread violence in her country, she landed at the Hindon airbase near New Delhi on Monday. She was shifted to an unspecified location under tight security.

Security agencies in India are analyzing both the short and long-term stay of Sheikh Hasina.

Quoting sources, India Today TV reported that the Indian government is working on securing asylum for the 77-year-old Awami League chief in a European nation.

Hasina’s plans to take asylum in Britain hit a roadblock due to some “uncertainties”. As per reports she may not move out of India for the next few days.
