Lion ‘Krish’ Passes Away in Nandankanan Zoo

Bhubaneswar: A male lion named ‘Krish’ died in died in Odisha’s Nandankanan Zoological Park died on Wednesday due to old age.

This big cat was born in Nandankanan in 2004.

According to the zoo authorities, because of advanced age Krish had become weak and was not eating properly. Its condition had started to deteriorate since July 26.

The animal was under geriatric palliative treatment by a team of dedicated veterinary doctors. But the male hybrid lion did not recover and also lost its ability to walk properly.

It breathed its last on Wednesday morning at around 9 am at the age of 20 years.

Krish has sired two litters- Kalpana and Jeet with Radha in the Nandankanan zoo.
