Pressure Cooker Blast in Bengaluru Injures 2, NIA Begins Probe

Bengaluru: At least two people sustained injuries in a pressure cooker explosion in Bengaluru’s JP Nagar area on Wednesday, according to the police. The blast occurred around 10 AM near the Udupi Upahara eatery. The injured individuals, identified as Sameer and Mohsin, both hailing from Uttar Pradesh, are currently receiving medical treatment.

While the explosion caused significant damage, scattering household items, the police have ruled out any terror involvement. “After a thorough examination, we have confirmed that no explosives were used. It was indeed a pressure cooker blast. The injured men are barbers, and our investigation so far has found no evidence of foul play,” a senior police officer stated.

Despite ruling out a terror link, a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrived in Bengaluru to collaborate with local authorities and cross-examine the incident to ensure all angles are covered.

This incident follows an earlier IED explosion at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru’s Brookefield area earlier this year, which left at least 10 people injured.
