Puri Jagannath Temple to Have AI Camera Vigil

Puri: Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered technology will be deployed at Puri Jagannath Temple soon to enhance crowd management measures and security, informed Puri district Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain on Wednesday.

Speaking to newsmen regarding the crowd management and security measures at the Sri Jagannath temple, he added that the district administration has decided to set up AI-powered cameras in and outside the Shri Jagannath temple.

The AI-powered cameras will keep strict vigil on the visitors to the temple, and scan them for mobiles and other electronic devices along with photographic tools. The persons possessing them will be immediately identified.

A committee is looking into the feasibilities of using the unmanned AI-powered cameras inside the temple. The AI technology will also keep check on anti-social activities on the temple campus, he said.
