Divyang Hacked To Death Over Past Rivalry In Puri

Puri: A divyang man was hacked to death by unidentified armed miscreants on Monday evening in Puri.

The critically injured victim was transported to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where he passed away during treatment on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the victim identified as Harihar Sahu was attacked by four machete wielding miscreants who came on three bikes at the Hadagodia square. The attackers escaped leaving behind profusely bleeding Harihar on the road. Miscreants reportedly attacked Sahu a few days after Sahu’s son was arrested in connection with the murder of a person named Dinesh Khuntia.

Personnel of the Puri Town police station are investigating possible links of this recent murder to the earlier crimes. The reason behind this murder is suspected to be past rivalry. A manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.

Earlier, on August 8, Dinesh Khuntia was murdered in broad daylight in the Radhagobinda Lane area of Puri.
