Two 4-Yr-Old Boys Drown In Village Pond In Nuapada Dist

Nuapada: Two four-year-old children drowned in a pond at Sareipalli village under Jonk police station limits in Nuapada district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Hemraj Bariha (4) and Sankar Bariha (4).

Both victims were bathing in the pond after playing with mud in the afternoon when they met with the mishap.

A woman, who was also bathing in the pond at that time, saw the children drowning and cried out for help. Locals rushed to the spot and fished out the two children in critical condition. They were rushed to the Nuapada district headquarters hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

Jonk police seized the bodies for post-mortem and registered two unnatural death cases.
