Aircraft Goes Missing in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan

Jamshedpur: An aircraft went missing after it took off from an aerodrome in Jamshedpur on Tuesday. It is yet to be traced.

An NDRF team is expected to join the search operation in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district on Wednesday to locate the missing two-seater aircraft. The administrations of the East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharswan districts, police and the Forest Department were searching for the missing aircraft.

According to reports, a Cessna 152 owned by flying school Alchemist Aviation, took off from the Sonari aerodrome in Jamshedpur at around 11 am on Tuesday with a pilot and trainee on board. After some time, it went missing.

The debris of the plane is being searched in Chandil dam in Seraikela-Kharswan district as some locals claimed that they saw the debris of the aircraft in the reservoir.

The plane was last was detected by the Air Traffic Control at Sonari Aerodrome near Nimdih under Chandil sub-division of Seraikela-Kharswan district.

Areas in adjoining Purulia district of West Bengal are also being searched for the missing plane.
