Truck Runs Over 5 Sleeping on Footpath in Delhi, 3 Killed

New Delhi: A canter truck ran over five homeless people sleeping on the footpath in Delhi’s Shastri Park area in the early hours of Monday. Three of them were killed, while the other two were critically injured. , August 26, resulting in the death of three of them.

The accident occurred at around 4:30 am when a canter truck coming from Seelampur and heading towards Iron Bridge, climbed onto the central verge and ran over five people sleeping on a footpath. The driver of the canter truck immediately escaped from the spot leaving behind the vehicle.

The injured — Mustaq, 35, and Kamlesh, 36, — were admitted to the JPC Hospital. Police are trying to track down the driver of the truck and identify the deceased.
