Wasp Attack Kills 7-Yr-Old Girl in Keonjhar Dist, 2 Injured

Keonjhar: A wasp attack took the life of a seven-year-old girl and two others were seriously at Kashia village under Ladbil police station limits in the Keonjhar district on Wednesday. They faced the wasp attack while working in agricultural field.

The deceased was identified as Nanika Laguri (7). Injured duo, Sujata Munda and Lakshmi Munda were admitted to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

According to reports, Sujata and Lakshmi, who are sisters, had gone to work in their agricultural field with their niece Nanika. While Sujata and Lakshmi were working in the field, Nanika was playing under a tree. All of a sudden a swarm of wasps attacked her. In a bid to save the child, the two sisters were injured. All the three injured were admitted to the Keonjhar DHH.

As the condition of Nanika deteriorated, she was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. But she died on her way to Cuttack.
