Govt Doctor Arrested for Hitting Scooter With His Car in Inebriated Condition; Injuring Four

Keonjhar: A government doctor was arrested for allegedly crashing his car to a scooter under the influence of alcohol and injuring four, including two minors in Barbil of Keonjhar district.

The accused identified as Dr H Jha is posted posted at Barbil Community Health Centre (CHC).

The accident occurred near Old Cinema Hall Square in Barbil on Tuesday. According to eyewitnesses, after hitting the scooter, the inebriated doctor dragged the two-wheeler up to a distance of 1 km.

The injured persons, Md Farooq, his wife Ajmari Khatoon and their two children Md Farhab and Ali Sada aged 11 and 8 years, were thrown off the scooter when it was hit by the car.

Khatoon and Sada have been shifted to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.
