TPSODL Expands 33 KV Power Lines, Reaching 1.59 Lakh Consumers in Southern Odisha

Berhampur: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has made considerable progress in upgrading the power infrastructure across Southern Odisha, overcoming challenges posed by the region’s tough terrain, including hilly landscapes, dense forests, and remote villages. The company’s efforts highlight its dedication to providing reliable electricity to every corner of the region.

Over the last three financial years, TPSODL has laid approximately 274 circuit kilometres of 33 KV power lines, ensuring a stable power supply to some of the most isolated areas of Southern Odisha. This improvement has significantly transformed the lives of residents by providing quality electricity to homes, schools, hospitals, and emergency services.

In the 2023-24 fiscal year, TPSODL successfully installed 129.70 circuit kilometres of 33 KV lines across various districts, enhancing power reliability for nearly 76,000 consumers. The previous year saw the addition of 125.70 circuit kilometres of lines, benefiting over 72,000 residents. In the 2021-22 fiscal year, 19 circuit kilometres of lines were laid, improving the power supply for 10,925 consumers.

TPSODL continues to have ambitious plans for the current fiscal year, focusing on both strengthening the existing infrastructure and building new power lines across Southern Odisha. This ongoing expansion aims to ensure reliable electricity for even more residents.

CEO of TPSODL, Amit Kumar Garg, expressed his pride in the company’s accomplishments, saying, “Our mission is to ensure a high-quality power supply across Southern Odisha, regardless of geographical challenges. The infrastructure upgrades we’ve achieved over the last three years are only the beginning. We are committed to continuous improvement to better serve the people of Southern Odisha.”

Among the key projects recently completed by TPSODL is the installation of a new 33 KV line from the Gunupur Grid Substation to the Bikrampur Primary Substation. This upgrade has significantly improved power stability in the Jagannathpur, Gotalpadar, Morama, Sirijholli, and Bagasala panchayats of Gunupur block in Rayagada district.

Residents are noticing the positive impact. Nitesh Padhy, a resident of Gunupur, expressed satisfaction with the improved service, stating, “Since TPSODL took over, service reliability has significantly improved. Power interruptions have decreased, and we are grateful for the team’s efforts in bringing about this positive change.”
