Woman’s Throat Slit by Husband In Mayurbhanj Dist

Baripada: A man allegedly used a knife to slit his wife’s throat at his in-laws’ home at the Bhangabandh village under Kaptipada police station limits in the Mayurbhanj district on Thursday.

The injured woman, identified as Pravati was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Baripada. The accused husband, Biranchi fled from the spot after committing the crime.

Personnel of the Kaptipada police station have intiated an investigation to nab Biranchi.

Biranchi and Pravati got married five years back. After a marital tussle, Pravati had left her husband’s home and was living with her parents at the Bhangabandh village.

On Thursday, Biranchi visited his in-laws house and attacked Pravati with a knife.
