Fake Visa Racket Busted in Delhi; Made Rs 300 Cr in 5 Yrs

New Delhi: A fake Visa racket was busted by Delhi police.

Delhi police raided the fake Visa issuing unit in Tilak Nagar and arrested Manoj Monga, a diploma holder in graphic design. According to the police, around five years back, Manoj was encouraged by a man called Jaideep Singh to make counterfeit visas. Jaideep provided necessary equipment to Manoj fro the purpose.

Investigation has revealed that they were making some 30-60 fake visas every month and each was sold for Rs 8-10 lakh. It is estimated that the racket has made Rs 300 crore during their five-year operation. They could prepare a visa sticker in only 20 minutes.

This racket used Telegram, Signal, and WhatsApp for communication and had an intricate web of local agents across several regions who were contacting gullible people searching jobs abroad.

Till now, six persons involved in the racket have been arrested and 16 Nepali passports, two Indian passports, 30 visa stickers, and 23 visa stamps have been recovered. The equipments used to make the forged visas such as dye machines, printers, laminating sheets, laptops, UV machines have been seized.

This racket came to the fore, when on September 2, a man from Haryana was caught during an immigration check at Delhi airport while attempting to travel to Italy on a fake Swedish visa. During interrogation, he revealed that several persons of his village had visited abroad using similar fake visas. Sandeep’s revelations led to the busting of the racket.
