60-Yr-Old Man Stabbed for Proposing to Young Woman in Bengaluru; 2 Arrested

Bengaluru: A woman and her male friend were arrested for stabbing a 60-year-old man. They allegedly stabbed the elderly man when he made a love proposal to the woman in the Sadduguntepalya area of Bengaluru.

According to the police, the victim, Hitendra Kumar is a cloth shop owner. He had asked the young woman to meet him at KEB Park on September 15.

While Hitendra and the woman were sitting on a bench in the park at around 9.30 pm, her male friend Siddu reached there and began stabbing Hitendra.

Injured Hitendra was rushed to a hospital and is recovering. The victim has filed a police complaint against the young woman and her male friend. He also added that he had earlier proposed to the woman and she had accepted the proposal.

The woman had worked at Hitendra’s cloth shop for a few months in the past. She alleged that Hitendra was harassing her at the shop.

The police are now investigating whether the victim sexually harassed or threatened the woman, prompting the attack. Police are examining the communications between the arrested woman and the victim to resolve the case. Statements from employees at the cloth shop are also being recorded.
