PM Modi Holds Roundtable with US Tech CEOs, Emphasises India’s Growth Potential

New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a high-profile roundtable with CEOs of top American tech companies, emphasising India’s growth trajectory and exploring collaborative opportunities across various sectors. The meeting, held at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel during the second leg of his US visit, involved leaders from 15 major US firms working in advanced technologies, including AI, quantum computing, and semiconductors.

In a post on X, PM Modi shared, “Had a fruitful roundtable with tech CEOs in New York, discussing aspects relating to technology, innovation and more. Also highlighted the strides made by India in this field. I am glad to see immense optimism towards India.”

During the conference, PM Modi highlighted the importance of technology partnerships, stating that initiatives like the ‘Critical and Emerging Technologies’ program are central to the India-US Global Strategic Partnership. He urged the CEOs to leverage India’s growth story, underscoring India’s goal to become the third-largest global economy during his third term.

“India offers opportunities to co-develop, co-design, and co-produce for the world, harnessing the growth of its economy and technology sector,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

Key attendees included Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, Accenture CEO Julie Sweet, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, among others. PM Modi assured the business leaders of India’s commitment to protecting intellectual property and fostering tech innovation, particularly in semiconductor manufacturing and biotech.

He also discussed India’s ‘BIO E3’ policy aimed at making the country a biotech powerhouse and reiterated India’s ethical approach to AI development under its “AI for All” policy.

The CEOs expressed strong interest in investing in India, recognising its potential as a global tech hub. They highlighted India’s innovation-driven policies and agreed that collaborating with Indian startups presents immense opportunities to co-develop new technologies.

Earlier, PM Modi addressed the Indian diaspora at Nassau Veterans Coliseum and held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
