Gold Biscuits, Cash, Jewellery Stolen From Telangana Deputy CM’s House; 2 from Bihar Arrested

Kolkata: Two persons involved in the theft of cash worth Rs 2.2 lakh, gold biscuit and foreign currency from Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu’s home were arrested by the police.

The suspects, identified as Roshan Kumar Mandal and Uday Kumar Thakur from Bihar, were tracked down and nabbed at Kharagpur Railway Station in West Bengal. They were rounded up at the Kharagpur railway station when the railway police noticed their suspicious behaviour on the platform during a routine search.

Stolen goods including Rs 2.2 lakh in cash, 100 grams of gold biscuit and foreign currency comprising British pounds, UAE dirhams, and Swiss francs were seized from the possession of the two accused.

According to the police, they were involved in the theft at Vikramarka’s house while he was abroad on an official trip.

Railway Police informed that additional stolen goods like silver utensils and pearl jewellery were also recovered from the suspects, hinting that they were involved in multiple thefts.

During interrogation, the two thieves hailing from Bihar admitted to their crime. The West Bengal Police informed their counterparts in Telangana about their arrest.
