Jharkhand Man Burnt Alive as Bikes Catch Fire after Collision in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh: A bike rider from adjoining Jharkhand was burnt to death when two bikes caught fire after their head-on collision on Kudpani Road in Biramitrapur area of  Sundargarh district on Monday.

The deceased identified as Ashok Agarwal of Jharkhand was travelling from Raiboga to Biramitrapur when he met with the fatal accident. His motorcycle had a head-on collision with another bike which had two on board.

The impact of the collision triggered a fire. All the three bikers got caught in the blaze.

Hearing their screams, locals were able to rescue two of them from the burning bikes. But Ashok could not be dragged out of the fire as his leg got stuck and he was burnt to death on the spot.

On being informed, local police from Biramitrapur along with personnel of the Fire Services rushed to the spot and quenched the fire. The two bikes were reduced to ashes. The charred body of the deceased was sent for post-mortem.

The injured bikers were initially treated at the Birmitrapur Government Hospital. They were later shifted to Rourkela as their condition deteriorated.
