Rare Idols, Gold Ornaments Worth ₹5 Cr Unearthed From Odisha Priest’s House

Bhadrak: A significant discovery was made in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, where rare idols and gold ornaments valued at approximately ₹5 crore were unearthed from the residence of a priest associated with the renowned Akhandalamani Temple in Aradi.

Reports indicate that the priest, Rabi Narayan Mishra had been experiencing strange occurrences at his home recently. After discussing these incidents with a local priest, Narottam Mishra, a ritual was performed at his residence. Following the ritual, a large pit measuring 6×6 feet and extending 15 feet deep was excavated.

During the dig, a sizable brass handi was uncovered, containing idols of Lord Shiva and his family, alongside gold ornaments. While excavators suggested that the idols were made of gold, the priest disputed this, asserting that the idols are brass and denying the presence of any gold ornaments.

Narottam Mishra later disclosed the findings, claiming that the priest attempted to hide the discovery.
