Govinda Shoots Himself in Leg with His Licensed Revolver

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Govinda was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday morning for a bullet injury on his leg. According to police sources, Govinda is out of danger. His manager has also informed that he is fine.

The actor shot himself accidentally with his licensed revolver at his Juhu home at around 4.45 am. The actor released an audio clip in which he said, “I was hit by a bullet but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors here and your prayers.”

Govinda, the 60-year-old actor is also a Shiv Sena leader.

He was getting ready to leave for Kolkata to attend a program, when the mishap occurred, his manager Shashi Sinha said. Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata, has left for Mumbai after hearing about the incident.

According to Sinha, the revolver went off when it fell to the ground while Govinda was keeping it in a cupboard. The bullet hit him below his knee. The actor called up his wife and his manager. Police also reached the spot and admitted him to a nearby Hospital.
