Judicial Commission Probing Assault On Army Officer & His Fiancée Issues Notifications

Bhubaneswar: The Judicial Commission headed by former High Court Judge Justice Chittaranjan Dash probing the alleged atrocity of the personnel of Bharatpur police on an Indian Army officer and his fiancée case, issued notifications in connection to the case on Saturday.

To gather information and clues about the incident, the Commission invited open affidavits from stakeholders, including the complainants, police, and the general public.

The Commission has started its work at the office set up in the Special Circuit House in Bhubaneswar.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi ordered this judicial enquiry following the alleged custodial assault on the Army Captain and his girlfriend led to a national furor.

The Commission is to submit its report to the government within 60 days.
