Subarnapur Executive Engineer Nabbed While Taking Rs 46,000 Bribe

Bhubaneswar: Personnel of Odisha Vigilance arrested Jitendra Kumar Padhy, Executive Engineer (EE), Tel Irrigation Division, Subarnapur, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 46,000 from a contractor in his office chamber.

The erring executive engineer had demanded the bribe to clear the pending bills of the contractor. The entire marked up bribe money was recovered from the possession of accused.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches were taken up at six locations linked to Padhy from the disproportionate assets (DA) angle.

A case has been registered in this connection at the Sambalpur Vigilance PS under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
