12-Hr Bandh in Rayagada Demanding CBI Probe Into Tribal Warden’s Death

Rayagada: A 12-hour dawn to dusk bandh is being observed in the Rayagada district of Odisha by the tribal outfit, ‘District Adivasi Mahasangha’ on Friday demanding a CBI probe into the death of a tribal warden.

The tribal outfit alleged that the local police have failed to nab the persons responsible for the death of ‘Maa Gruha’ warden Laxmi Majhi.

According to the protestors, the bandh was to be observed in all 11 blocks of the Rayagada district.

The charred body of Majhi, a local tribal girl was discovered in the Maa Gruha located on the premises of Chandrapur Medical on December 21. She was set on fire by some unknown assailants.

Although the Odisha Crime Branch has taken over the investigation of the case, the mystery surrounding the death of Majhi is yet to be solved.
