1Hr Bandh in Kantabanji for District Status Demand

 

 

Balangir: A dawn-to-dusk bandh call by Kantabanji Zilla Sangarsha Samiti seeking district status for the region affected normal life in the region on Tuesday.

The members of the organization picketed at different locations from early morning. All shops, markets, educational institutes, and other business establishments remained closed in Kantabanji.

Vehicular traffic remained stalled on all roads passing through Kantabanji, including Kantabanji-Bolangir, and Kantabanji-Khariar roads.

But emergency services were kept out of the bandh purview.

The locals of Turekela, Bongomunda, Muribahal, Belapada, and Khaprakhol blocks and Kantabanji NAC extended their support to the bandh call.

This organization observed similar bandhs on July 18, March 25 this year and November 24, 2022 for the district status demand.
