2 Kanwariyas Drown in Salandi River in Balasore District

Balasore: Two kanwariyas reportedly went missing while taking a dip in the Salandi River near Khaira in Balasore district on Monday.

They were on their way to a Shiva temple to pour water on the Shivling on the auspicious day of Shravan Monday.

As per reports, the missing kanwariyas were from Sana Jaipur village in Balasore district. They were on their way to a Shiva temple in Barada panchayat of Khaira block.

On the way, they decided to take a dip in the Salandi river. But they slipped into the deep water of the of river flooded by recent heavy rainfall. Both of them were swept away by the swift current of the river water.

Locals and fire services officials have started a search operation to locate both these ill-fated kanwariyas.
