2 Poll Officials of Odisha Suspended by ECI for Dereliction of Duty

Bhubaneswar: Two polling officials in Odisha were suspended by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday for their alleged dereliction of duty.

According to Nikumja Bihari Dhal, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha, one of these suspended polling officials is from Narla Assembly constituency in Kalahandi district and the other is from Ganjam district. These two polling officials were deployed in two polling booths in Kalahandi and Berhampur parliamentary constituencies.

“There were a few technical glitches in EVMs in some places during the initial hours but the situation has stabilised, Dhal said.

Voting is underway in Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, and Berhampur Lok Sabha seats and assembly seats under them.
