2 Security Men Martyred, 4 injured in IED blast by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur

Raipur: Two jawans of the Special Task Force (STF) died and and four others injured when the Maoists blasted an improvised explosive device (IED) in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Wednesday night.

This IED was detonated by the red rebels in Tarrem area targeting a team of security personnel returning after an anti-Naxalite operation in forests on the tri-junction of Bijapur-Sukma-Dantewada districts.

The joint team included personnel of the STF, District Reserve Guard—both units of state police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and its elite unit CoBRA. They were involved in an anti-Maoist operation launched on Tuesday.

The martyred STF personnel were constables—Bharat Sahu, resident of Raipur, and Satyer Singh Kange, of Narayanpur district. The four injured personnel were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
