Rahul had come to visit his relatives in Cuttack when the unfortunate incident occurred. While walking to a teashop, he fell into an open drain and lost his life. Heavy rainfall had caused waterlogging in many parts of the city, including the area where the incident took place.

The incident has shocked the local community, as it is the second death of its kind reported in the city in recent months. In response, Rahul’s father lodged a complaint with the Purighat police regarding the incident. Open drains pose a significant danger, and he called for urgent measures to address the issue.

Despite previous requests and estimated funds for restoration work, no progress has been made.
