24 Including 12 Newborns Die in 24 Hrs in Maharashtra Hospital

Mumbai: Twelve newborns were among 24 persons who died at a state government-run hospital in Maharashtra’s Nanded in 24 hours.

Shortage of medicines and hospital staff is being alleged to be the reason behind these deaths.

Of 24 deaths, 12 adults were suffering from “various ailments, mostly snake bites”. Added to them six male and six female babies also died in the last 24 hours

Calling the deaths “unfortunate”, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde told reporters in Mumbai that more information will be sought about what happened at the hospital and action will be taken.

A three-member committee has been formed to probe the deaths.
