2nd Terrorist Killed in Rajouri Encounter, Jawan & Army Dog Martyred

Srinagar: A second Pakistani terrorist was slain in the continuing encounter with security forces in remote Narla village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, a Pakistani terrorist was killed in this encounter in the remote Narla village on Tuesday. A jawan of the Indian Army and Kent, a six-year-old female Labrador of the Army’s dog unit, were martyred during the gunfight.

Three other security personnel were injured in this encounter.

This encounter continued throughout Tuesday night and the search operation continued in the area on Wednesday morning.

The martyred jawan was Ravi Kumar, the rifleman from Kishtwar district. His body was airlifted to his hometown for last rites with full military honours.

A defense spokesperson said brave Army dog Kent lost her life while saving her handler during Tuesday’s gunfight.
