4 Killed in Blast at Tamil Nadu Firecracker Unit

Chennai: Four persons died in an explosion at a privately owned firecracker manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar on Saturday.

The exact reason behind the blast is yet to be ascertained, but sources say that the explosion occurred during the mixing of chemicals.

A part of the factory collapsed in the blast. Apart from the four dead, another person in the vicinity was injured.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed grief over the incident and announced Rs 3 lakh financial assistance to the families of the victims.
