5.5 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Kargil in Ladakh, Tremors Felt in North India, Pakistan

New Delhi: An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 hit Ladakh’s Kargil on Monday. Its tremors were experienced in North India and parts of Pakistan.

An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale occurred at 3:48 pm at a depth of 10 km beneath the earth’s surface, the National Center for Seismology said.

Tremors of this quake were experienced in Pakistan’s Islamabad and adjoining areas.

Earlier today, an earthquake of magnitude 4.0 had struck Pakistan.
