5-Time MP Prasanna Patasani Joins BJP Quitting BJD

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar’s five-time MP Prasanna Patasani left the BJD and joined the BJP.

He joined the saffron party in the presence of BJP’s Bhubaneswar MP, Aparajita Sarangi. After joining the BJP, Patasani said the BJD is no longer the party which it was.

“The party for which I was fighting is no longer the same party which it was. I blame none but Pandian for inflicting so much pain”, he said.

Patasani represented Bhubaneswar in the Lok Sabha from 1998 to 2019. The BJD did not provide him the ticket to contest the polls in 2019. He was again denied a ticket in the 2024 general elections.
