6-Month-Old Girl Killed in Crossfire Between Maoists & Security Forces in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: A 6-month-old girl died and her mother was injured during an exchange of fire between security forces and Maoists in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Monday.

Two jawans of the District Reserve Guard were also injured in this encounter. This encounter occurred on Monday evening in a forest near Mutvandi village under Gangaloor police station limits.

A team of DRG involved in an anti-Maoist operation in the area stumbled upon a group of armed Maoists that led to the exchange of fire.

The injured woman and the two jawans were admitted to a local hospital. Combing operations have been intensified in the area to track down the Maoists.
