Agri Dept Official Caught While Taking Rs 50K Bribe in Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar: Officials of Rourkela vigilance wing on Thursday arrested Ganesh Kalser, a technical assistant of Soil Testing Laboratory in Chief District Agriculture Officer (CDAO), Jharsuguda while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000 from a contractual worker to process a file for the continuance of his contractual job.

The marked-up bribe money was seized from the possession of accused Kalser by the vigilance sleuths.

Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations linked to Kalser to investigate the DA angle.

The vigilance wing of Rourkela registered a case in this connection.
