Another Indian-American Joins 2024 US Presidential Race, Know Who

Hirsh Vardhan Singh, an aerospace engineer has become the third Indian-American aspiring for the nomination of the Republican Party for the 2024 US presidential elections. Indian-Americans including former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy are already in the race.

Through a video message, 38-year-old Singh introduced himself as a lifelong Republican and an “America First constitutional carry and pro-life conservative who helped restore the conservative wing of New Jersey’s Republican Party starting in 2017”.

He ran unsuccessfully for the US Senate in 2020.

The Republican candidates vying for the presidency, include big names like that of Trump, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, Ramaswamy, Nikki Haley, Senator Tim Scott, and businessman and pastor Ryan Binkley.

Born to Indian immigrant parents, Singh did a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2009.

He contested for the post of New Jersey governor in 2017 and finished third in the race getting only 9.8 per cent votes.
