CBI Takes Over Manipur Horrific Video Case, Registers Case

New Delhi: The CBI on Saturday formally took over the probe into the viral video of two women being paraded naked by a mob in Manipur on May 4.

This case of sexual assault and violence against two women in Manipur was handed over to the CBI by the Union Home Ministry.

The probe agency registered an FIR in the case after a notification by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) was issued.

The CBI filed an FIR under Sections 153A, 398, 427, 436, 448, 302, 354, 364, 326, 376, 34 IPC and 25 (1-C) A Act.
