Prajwal Revanna Travelled On Diplomatic Passport, No Clearance Sought: Centre

New Delhi: Karnataka MP Prajwal Revanna, facing allegations of sexual abuse, travelled to Germany without political clearance, revealed the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday.

As a diplomatic passport holder, Revanna didn’t require a visa for his trip to Frankfurt on April 26. The MEA stated that it hadn’t issued any visa note for Revanna’s travel, emphasizing his diplomatic passport status.

Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, is embroiled in controversy following numerous explicit videos purportedly showing him came to the fore. He denied the videos’ authenticity, alleging they are morphed and has filed a complaint.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed by the Karnataka government to probe the allegations, issuing a lookout notice against Revanna.

Amidst the scandal, Revanna filed for anticipatory bail, postponing his appearance before the SIT in Bengaluru today. He is contesting for another term from Hassan in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
