IED Blast Damages Bridge Linking Manipur to Nagaland

Imphal: A bridge on National Highway 2 connecting Manipur’s Imphal and Nagaland’s Dimapur was damaged in an IED blast Wednesday.

The bridge is situated on the National Highway that runs through Koubru Leikha, Sapermeina villages, and Kangpokpi district in Manipur.

The explosion occurred at around 12.45 am on Wednesday and it created three craters in the middle of the bridge. Cracks also appeared on both ends of the bridge after the explosion.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.

Heavy vehicle movement on the bridge was restricted following the blast.
