Army Captain Martyred In Encounter In J&K During Search For 4 Terrorists

New Delhi: An Army officer was martyred during an encounter with a group of four terrorists in the Assar area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, reported NDTV. A civilian was also injured during this exchange of fire.

The search operation continued to capture the terrorists, one of whom was injured.

The security forces recovered a US-made M4 assault rifle and three rucksacks with assorted equipment and logistics from the encounter site.

As per reports, Army had received intelligence reports about the terrorists’ hideout on Tuesday evening. Following it a search operation was taken up. They located the terrorists and there was a brief exchange of fire on Tuesday night and the op resumed Wednesday morning.

This latest terror attack in the Jammu region happened a day before Independence Day celebrations.
