Arrested Ex-CM Hemant Soren Sent to Judicial Custody

Ranchi: A special PMLA court in Ranchi on Thursday remanded former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren to judicial custody till February 22. He was arrested by the ED on Jan 31 night in connection with a money laundering case related to an alleged land scam.

On Thursday, Hemant Soren was produced before the special PMLA court.  Following the court order for his judicial remand, he was transported to the Birsa Munda Central Jail at Hotwar in Ranchi.

On February 2, the PMLA court granted five days of ED custody to Soren. His ED custody was extended twice for seven days in total.
