WATCH: Arvind Kejriwal Walks Out Of Tihar Jail After 50 Days

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail on Friday evening following the Supreme Court’s decision to grant him bail until June 1.

This decision allows Kejriwal to actively participate in campaigning for his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Upon his release from Gate No 4, Kejriwal was greeted by a crowd of AAP supporters, including prominent party members such as Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj, who had taken on leadership roles during Kejriwal’s absence. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann was also in attendance to welcome Kejriwal.

Kejriwal’s bail is effective until June 1, coinciding with the final phase of voting in the seven-stage Lok Sabha election. Following this, he is required to report back to Tihar Jail authorities by June 2.

Although pleas for an extension of his bail were denied, the court has agreed to consider arguments for extended relief next week.
