Asian Games 2023: Archers Grab India’s 16th Gold Medal

Archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale won India’s 16th gold medal of the ongoing Asian Games. The Indian archer defeated South Korea in the compound mixed team event to win the gold.

Jyothi and Ojas defeated Korea’s So Chaewon and Joo Jaehoon 159-158 in the final match.

This was India’s 71st medal at the Hangzhou Games, their best ever at the Asian Games.

India also won a bronze medal in 35 km race walk mixed team event. On Wednesday, World Champion Neeraj Chopra will be defending his men’s javelin throw gold medal and Lovlina Borgohain will compete in the women’s 75kg boxing category final against China’s Li Qian.
