Assistant Executive Engineer Nabbed While Taking Rs 50K Bribe in Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar: Officials of the Odisha Vigilance department nabbed Rabindra Patra, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), RWS&S in Jharsuguda, on Friday, while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant (a contractor) for the release of his pending bills.

Patra has been arrested. The entire marked-up bribe money was recovered from his possession.

Following his arrest, raids were conducted at four locations linked to Patra.

A case has been registered at the Rourkela Vigilance police station against Patra under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
