Athagarh BDO Arrested by Vigilance for Amassing Disproportionate Assets

Bhubaneswar: Pradeep Kumar Sahu (OAS), Block Development Officer of Athagarh was arrested by the Odisha Vigilance officials on Thursday on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his income.

A press release issued by Vigilance Department in connection with his arrest said, “Based on searches conducted on properties of Sri Pradeep Kumar Sahu, OAS, Block Development officer (BDO), Athagarh, Dist-Cuttack, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including 2 Buildings, 1 Flat in Bhubaneswar, 3 Plots, Deposits over Rs.47 Lakhs, Cash Rs.6.11 Lakhs, Gold approx 452 gms, 2 Four wheelers etc, which he could not account for satisfactorily.”

According to the Odisha Vigilance, a building at Bhalibadi near Old PS in Khordha district, another building at Raj Sunakhala in Nayagarh district, One flat (No 6, 2nd floor, Shree Enclave) in Gautam Nagar in Bhubaneswar, three plots in Khordha and Raj Sunakhala in Nayagarh district have been found in the name of Sahu and his family members.
